All the pest control devices are is a high frequency sound system (sort of an electronic dog whistle). I tried one a few years ago and the only benefit was that Howard Brothers made a profit from selling it to me. We lost money selling it in a garage sale some time later. All the while I had it, I still saw mice every time I opened the barn door. And no, the horse wasn't out when I closed it

I also tried one and had no luck with them working. I have used dryer sheets and mothballs for many years now and never had and problems.

I've been using Fresh Cab Repellent for about a year, so far working great. They carry it at my local Tractor Supply in a 4-pack.

I have to go with dryer sheets as well. I put them in out of the way places - can't hurt, and I've never seen a rat or mouse inside anyway.

I trapped the 2 little beasties that got into our 5er, and then plugged the sonic repellents in. Didn't have another mouse, but how do you prove a negative? No way to know if it kept them out, or there were just no more trying to breach the fortress...

The plug ins where cheap, so I didn't feel bad either way. Bottom line is - no more mickeys where they weren't welcome.

Some one suggested to my wife and swore by cloves wrapped in cheese cloth. So, we've got about 5 pounds of cloves spread around the inside of our camper. Yet to be seen whether they work or not. One thing for sure, I suspect my camper is going to smell like a baked ham when we open it up this spring.

Plus 1 on dryer sheets! I put them in all the toys! Boats ,campers, ATV's and even on the garage floor under the vehicles (not where you walk, they are slick). Living in the woods has it's advantages and it's problems. But, dryer sheets keep them out of my stuff. Prior to the dryer sheet I had a unused bag of grass seed that mickey moved from a garden shed (that was attached to the garage) and tanfered the seed into the trunk of my car. Opened the trunk one day and the whole trunk was full of seed, no other damage TG. They were there first, before we built, so they have some squatters rights. Dryer sheets spread everywhere, no more mices!

Spearmint Oil

Old farmers trick: spearmint oil mixed in a pump sprayer with lemon scented soap (lets the oil mix) and water sprayed under the unit keeps visitors from wanting to visit. Spray around house foundations as well and Mickey will pass you up for the next place.
