Outside entry light

What does everyone do for an outside entry light. I can’t believe and didn’t even think about till our first camping trip and went to get into camper at night. That was when we noticed there was no light near the door. Sure it has awning lights on the sides of the rails. But no light at the door. Makes it little had for mom to see those steps. Thought about a solar light at the door but figured it would fall off during travel. Thinking about some kind of light I could mount to the steps. Any ideals from those who had the same problem and found a fix.

My 2020 Avalanche has a 12 volt light under the steps and a switch inside the panel marked STEP LIGHT, but it would be fairly easy to run 12 volt wiring and even put in a remote switch for one

This is a minor complaint of mine too. The LED awning lights are nice, but I wish we still had the regular porch light too. Access is reasonably easy, so I've contemplated adding a step light as mentioned.

Our camper came with step lights. They are just an amber clearance light mounted to the back plate on the top step. They work great for illuminating the steps without blinding you while setting outside. You're only limited by your imagination. Led strip lights on the steps, or a porch light next to the door if you can get a power wire fropm the opposite side of the wallo.

Our solution was to put solar deck lights on either side of the steps with 3m dual lock fasteners. 1400 miles on a variety of roads and both are still there.

This trailer has a porch light and the last had a porch/step lights. On both DW still wanted more light and I didn't want to make modifications to the trailer. The solution was a 6' power cord plugged into the outside outlet with a LED light w/motion sensor on it. Just plugged the light into the cord and looped it over one of the supports for the step and plugged it in. Any time we approached in the dark it just turns on and lights up things perfectly. When time to go, unplug and pitch in the plastic "accessory" box in the pass through.

I did something similar. Solar motion lights. One at each door. I did screw them to the skirt. Got them from Amazon.

Sorry I don't have pictures. I used an amber porch light and mounted it under the step box of our previous Flagstaff TT. I mounted a switch on the plastic skirting to the right of the steps. I ran the wire to the battery box with an inline 5 amp fuse. Now I get to fab up a light on our new Carbon.

Heres some pictures. They throw a good amount of light and have side lights also. They light the space between the doors well.

Danny I like your idea - you can use it elsewhere if needed too (tanks, etc.)!
