Battery Monitor 2016 Premier 19fbpr

Is the battery Monitor on the on the system panel directly connected to the battery or at least the 12V side of the converter for a most accurate reading or is it just connected to any 12 volt source?

When I PDI a new unit, I put a battery on and then check the panel. I will turn on enough lights to get the panel to show less than 100%. Then I plug in the shore power cord and verify the panel shows 100%, based on this I would believe the panel reads the battery side of the converter.

For 18 bucks you can get a DC monitor on Amazon which will provide you all the info you need.

Bayite meter on Amazon

Pretty easy install, I installed mine near my TV and it was easy to run the 4 wire phone cord with the rest of the wiring in the TT. Scroll down this page to see the meter up close before I installed it.

I have the monitor just looking for the best place to connect it. Near the systems panel would be good but want the best direct battery connection.

Re: Battery Monitor 2016 Premier 19fbpr

I pulled the panel and discovered that the button for the battery level is part of a small circuit board with very small wires so I decided to connect the new battery monitor to the battery side of the converter... Works fine and should be little voltage drop...
