Keytv & Satellite

If I plug my g3 dish straight into my inserter it will locate the satellite and works fine. I can then connect it to my keytv in the wet port and still works fine. But if I plug into the keytv first, the dish will not power up and locate satellites. Really don’t want to have a coaxial line running across the floor. Any thoughts or recommendations?

It's my understanding the the KeyTV system will not pass through enough 12 volt power to activate and operate the g3 aiming system. Once the receiver/dish is positioned properly, the KeyTV system will process the signal, but since it can't "power the aiming electronics" unless the g3 system is "already positioned properly" it won't work with KeyTV.

That sounds like exactly what is going on. I guess I’ll have to just run a cable to the inserter, let it position and then move the cable back to where it belongs.

Or, install an additional "satellite TV connector" on the outside of your RV and completely bypass the KeyTV system for satellite reception.
