Convert a ball on roto flex pin box
hello all,
new to this forum. i used to have a 2001 Komfort fiver that i converted to gooseneck using a covert-a-ball adapter. It had a standard pin box, no cushioning or movement. it worked really well for me, keeping my truck bed more useful for work. towed very well. truck is 2017 ram 4x4 CCLB 2500 6.7 cummins w/factory gooseneck prep package.
I donated that trailer to a CA fire victim and now i am buying a 2021 crossroads ce3201rl 36' fifth wheel with the "roto flex pin box" i am aware the conversion will probably void some pin box warranty, but I really like popping the ball out of the bed vs a 180lb hitch. the goose neck adapter has the following capacities:
- Towing Capacity 20,000 lb. GVW
• Tongue Weight 4,000 lb.
• Cushioned 360˚
• Safety chains included
Question is: Have any of you had any experience converting a roto flex pin box?
that pin box has some additional movement capabilities, seems fine to me, but if someone has some practical knowledge that would be great.
Thanks, and happy new year!
