27RES bed claustrophobic

Finding dark wood encircling the head of the bed slightly claustrophobic. Thinking about painting a light or white color or applying wall paper

I’ve seen people paint them white, even seen an antique finish. Looked ok.

Big mirrors strategically placed can make a room feel much larger too!

We turned our bed around, no more jamming our heads into that area under an overhead or side cabinets....

WAY BETTER.

Re: reading in bed....

My wife does too.

Lots of battery-operated options that you can stick on surfaces, some with adjustable beams so my beauty rest is not disturbed.

She also like to read around the campfire at night, and uses one of those headlamps, she likes it a lot.

BYT, with our heads and feet switched around, you get more room to dangle an arm off the side, etc, as you are not constrained by a cabinet side, and we get much better air circulation as well.

Interesting, DW and I like the coziness of the head of the bed. Our woodwork is lite tan, and not dark.

Ours is very light, white washed, its the cramp feeling and lack of air circulation in ours.
If you turn to the outside, sleeping on your side, the cabinet is just a few inches away from your face and no room to extend your arms, etc, as the mattress fits snuggly between the wardrobe closets on either side of out model.
We can now look out the windows too, one on each side.
Works great for us
