Proud new owner

Just pulled the string on a new Keystone Montana 3120RS, it was a left over 2020 model and we got a smoking deal. Go through the PDI this Friday and I have my sheet ready to go. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for or making sure of regarding the 3120 model? If you own one and wish to share your pro's and con's I would appreciate it a lot. Cannot wait for our first camping trip in the new RV, however all the memories with the Heartland will remain with us. It was a good camper and we took it all over Arizona, Colorado, Southern and middle California, some midwest states and lots of Utah, so it saw a lot of the western USA. Looking forward to new and exciting adventures!! Guess I better change my signature now! New RV and our little Buddy left us in July and crossed over that rainbow bridge. He will be missed so much, but he saw more of the country than some people have. Ok, be safe out there and thanks so much for everyones help and suggestion through this process!!

Congrats on that new trailer! Post some pics if you can. My condolences on the loss of Buddy. You had a good life with him and you know he had a blast - he was happy I'm sure.

Larry, congrat's on the new Montana. A nice RV indeed. I also am sorry about Buddy. We lost Patches going on two years and we still can't bring ourselves to start with a new companion.
You probably won't find that your particular model has any different quirks than the others. Just be very thorough, and don't sign until it is 100%.

We talked about getting another dog, but losing them is just to tough so we decided to just go it alone. They told me the PDI would take about two hours and I informed them that with my PDI sheet it looked more like three or more, the look on their faces was priceless!! Thanks for the advice and be safe out there!!

Congrats on your new unit. I’m sure it will give you years of great memories. My condolences too.

I had a brown point Siamese cat that absolutely adored me, more “possessive” than any dog I knew. I lost him at 2 1/2 yrs old to cancer, after he went on our cross country trip. Broke my heart and swore off all pets. 5 weeks later I was looking at a pet site and saw “Max”, a 6 month old flame point Siamese. He was considered unadoptable by the rescue. We met Max in the evening at a PetSmart, he jumped out of his cage and pressed up against my neck...he’s 11+ now and is more “clingy” than my first one.

Keep your heart open, cherish the memories and never say never.

Congrats. A couple things to look for, not particularly unique to the Montana or the 3120, but check over the theater seating very closely. Make sure all features on it are working (heat massage, usb, open/close). Make sure it’s sits square when open/closed and not leaning in any way (check both seats). Also check all of the MCD shades closely. Make sure the bottom rail/pull bar is secure all the way across. Been seeing several where the bottom rail is pulling off. Depending on how old the unit is (early or late 2020) if it still has the Furrion radio instead of the Jension, make sure everything is working on it. Take a DVD and CD with you and make sure both play and sound modes are working properly. Call the dealership ahead of time and tell them you want the fridge turned on temp set and a cup of water in the freezer, which should be ice during your walk. Make sure it works on gas and electric. Turn the electric on for the water heater, do not use the gas, make sure the water gets hot , should only take 20-30 mins on electric only. Shut it off, run the hot water out and then turn the gas on (don’t have to run all of the water out, just enough to make it so the water needs heating again). Check the thermostats and make sure you can cycle through the modes and temps. Make sure the heat pump works on the rear AC. Check air flow from all the ceiling vents. Check the floor close for any marks from the slides. Check the crown molding and trim close to ensure it’s secure, especially the crown molding near the back of the living room. Good luck and enjoy your new Monty

thanks for this useful thread, headed out to pick our 3854BR Montana (in Montana) ironically tomorrow. I am taking the guess work out of it by camping in their lot for 1-2 days lol. Also allows me to work remotely, looking forward to it! then i will head home to Portland.

As a sidenote i am less concerned about the things that can be fixed on warranty and more concerned on things being mint on the structure itself from a scratch and ding perspective, as those are not fixable after you drive it off.
