Happy Towmax Story
Had a blowout with 1 year old tires that I religiously checked pressure....
I happily through all 4 of them (blow-out plus 3 remaining good ones) in the trash!

Did you do any troubleshooting?
What caused the blowout?
Has your trailer been weighed since you have owned it?
Did the other tires show similar signs of impending failures?
Are you going to file a report with NHTSA?

1) I looked at the shrapnel and the troubleshooting guide indicated, "Replace tire."
2) Rapid air escape from tire.
3) Yes. 10,300 pounds on trailer axles. Just under 3-4K (memory) of wiggle room
4) No external indications on any of the tires.
5) Did not.

So, any other name brand tire could have had the same results.

Correlation...we usually only hear about issues with China bombs. I sense a trend here.

All tires have exactly the same failure rate. That explains the differences in pricing, nhtsa complaints, and construction. It explains why I threw money away on replacing the 32lb factory tires that were on my RV with tires that weighed 61lbs. No difference at all.

While you're 100% correct.... I have my suspicions that I would have a much lessor chance with a different brand or country of origin.

Are your suspicions anecdotal in nature?

Of course. Unless we have complete/accurate failure rate information from each manufacturer, all layman conclusions made should be considered anecdotal in nature.
One could even go as far as to state that failure rate information from the manufacture could be considered "incomplete" (didn't use word anecdotal) because an unknown number of failures go unreported.
