How is California Hwy 41, off i5?

Heading to Morro Bay in a couple weeks. Leaving from the Sierra Foothills (Nevada City). 41 looks like a direct route off i5, that goes all the way there. Wondering if anyone can comment on the road conditions and whether it's a relatively easy drive. Going to take a couple days to get down there. Never like traveling more than about 4 hours at a time, so I'll be looking for a spot to hang out for the night along the way.

Take Hwy-41 off of I-5 down to where it merges with Hwy-46. Continue on Hwy-46 to Paso Robles and then south on Hwwy-101. DO NOT take Hwy-41 where it branches off of Hwy-46 outside of Shandon. Narrow, winding, and not a RV route.

Thanks for that tip. Exactly what I was wondering.

How is 41 from Atascadero to Morro?

I am usually going down to Santa Maria on Hwy-101. It has been a while since I drove Hwy-41 from Atascadero to Morro Bay, but I don't recall it being too bad.

We just plotted a potential trip to Morro Bay and RV Wizard has us going this route.

Another option is to just stay on 46 all the way to Hwy 1 and then go south to Morro Bay. If the weather is clear it has really nice scenery along the coast on the way to Morro Bay.

How’s the road on 46 from Paso Robles to the coast?

We find it to be a much easier road to travel than Hwy 41, even if it's a little longer to Morro Bay.
