Question Roof Re-seal

My travel trailer is a 2005 Keystone zepplin Z191 19'. Some of the caulking on the roof, mostly on the front (hitch area) and rear (taillights) has cracks. I don't and never had any leaks, but am a bit nervious. I did a quick fix and applied some caulk over the cracked caulk, but I'm ready to preform a more perment fix.

1. Are the cracks in the caulk normal? Does it require attention?
2. What product should I use to reseal the roof and how much do I need?
3. Do I remove the old caulk or apply over it?
