se cougar here 25rddwe

You need an adapter from 50 amp to 30. not all.places have 50 go .plug into...

If you got the OTG solar package. Get good lesson on running inverter, etc.. check drawers under dinette. Have two people who have had troubles with drawers...
Not framed in good, screws not seeded and ours rubs the slide...

Many great suggestions so far . I offer up this one .I have a wheel chuck I made from a 6x6 that fits between the wheels it also doubles as a ramp to pull up on for a tire change . I thought it was a great piece but the DW does the chucking and unchucking. She prefers the black rubber ones from harbor freight. So the one I made seams to stay in the truck bed waiting for a flat tire. So maybe DW should have so input on the wheel chucking .

Looks like you have been given allot of good information. Let me weigh in on one subject which is a surge system. Look into the Hughes Autoformers Power Watchdog EPO. I formerly had a hardwired Surge Guard by Southwire. As unit got older it developed a humm that I was told by their tech staff was normal. I wasn't buying that. Switched to a Power Watchdog that is hardwired in and WOW what a difference. It does it all and can be monitored by Bluetooth on a Smartphone. Happy camping!!

These are some things I purchased... the dog collar is if you have a dog that barks incessantly at the campground.. the lock is for the ems when it’s plugged in to the pedestal

Smile Many thanks

Thanks to all who replied to my thread. I received much valuable information. We're looking forward to picking up our camper and hitting the road (as soon as the frigid weather and snow leave the midwest!). Thanks again!

not 50 amp

If we could order one in. We would just get the 30 amp one. You have choice if ordering... the only reason to do 50 if UF you are going to want 2nd air conditioner.... we dont, one works fine, CORD is huge, heavy,,, and we dry camp a lot. So we have to put 50 in, dogbone from 50 to 30 and 30 to 110 for our generator.... we would just have liked 30 amp, it doesn't run anymore... JUST 2ND AC..

Just some clarification; a 50A trailer has 100A available to power all the "stuff" in the RV - a 30A has 30A period. You can run the AC and microwave; a heater and microwave. There is NO way a 30A trailer can start to compare to a 50A trailer - btdt. If 30A, and doing all the negotiating it takes to use one thing, then another but not turn on 2 at time is OK with you...that's great. I don't like it, never did and never will again. It does depend on your style of camping, expectations and willingness to accept the limitations BUT the difference between a 50A and 30A is FAR more than only being able to run 2 ACs.

Something worth considering is a set of X-Chocks.
We found that just chocking the wheels and relying on the stabilizers, we still had an unacceptable (to the DW) amount of movement in the trailer. The X-Chocks got rid of a lot of movement.

An EMS or an extra 10' length of sewer hose is definitely a must have, but here's a couple other critical components for a successful trip:

Seriously, doesn't hurt to carry some games around with you for some fun around the campfire!

Word of advise. What you start with will not be what you finally end up with. (WHAT? ) really.

For example: You may purchase sewer hoses, looking for the best your available money can buy. But a year from now, they will fail. They will get pin-holes, leads, connections break.... any number of things can happen that will force you to buy another new one. The second purchase will be a bit wiser, again depending upon the best your "available" money can buy.

We've been through, probably 50 sewer hoses over 30 years of camping. We've had 4 different surge protectors/EMS devices.

We've tried different water filters over the years, and finally, we are not using any now. Never had a problem with water anywhere. It took a while to realize we didn't need them at all.

Even the electric cords you purchase for your camper, will eventually fail, crack, break, get run over by a lawn mower, something will happen that will cause you to have to purchase new again. When that happens, you'll be rethinking the next purchase.

In a nut shell, don't over think it. What works well for one person, may not work well for someone else. Use your best guess judgment ... based on what you can afford, and be prepared in a year to replace everything. (It will happen).

The second purchase, is always more wise and more informed than your first.

When you sell your current camper and get a new one, you'll be doing this all over again.

Black water chemicals. Oh we've tried different kinds; liquids, little plastic baggies you drop "down there". We tried the orange ones, the blue ones, the green liquid stuff. And we found out, the best method was just water and bit of Dawn Dishwashing liquid (Look up Geo Method). So, this changed over the years too.

You have received a bunch of advise on what is needed. All I can say as you go along you will find more stuff you want thinking it’s going to make your trip a little more easier. Some will some won’t I found I have purchased items I didn’t really need after getting them. But hey that’s camping got to love it.
