Blue LED light on switches- disable?
Anybody know of a way to disable the blue LED that backlights the switches for room lights? I have a 2020 Cougar 29BHS and the bedroom light switch is directly across from the bed. The blue light makes it hard to sleep. Thank you.

If you take the switch off you’ll notice 3 wires going to it. One is for illumination, just take it off and verify the switch still operates the lights.

Those blue lights are very annoying for sure. Close the slide curtain if you can, mount a towel over them, or one of those car window glare screens. Good luck.

Cover the blue light with a piece of electrical tape.
We have a digital clock in the bedroom with 2" high blue numbers, doesn't bother my sleep one bit.

A dab of black paint works wonders. I use a piece of electrical tape on the microwave clock

They sell tinted stickers to place over lights to dim them. You can find them on Amazon.

Fixed Blue Light issue
I did as chuckster57 recommended and took the switch off, pulled the small soldered chip and wires of the panel for the switch and just dropped/pushed them down into the wall. Then reattached. No more blue light showing but it is back down in the wall should it ever be needed again.

I hope you taped it up first, so it doesn't short out on anything?

Doing it "your way" (disconnecting the light from power) also eliminates a significant parasitic drain when dry camping.
Just using tape or black paint will not eliminate the light from being on, so it will continue to use battery power when you're not connected to shore power. You did it the "right way".....
As said, just remember to cover the exposed wires with electrical tape to prevent them from "sparking inside the wall"....

I would verify with a meter but from my experiences the "illuminated 12vdc switches" typically have positive in, positive out, and a ground to connected to the indicator light. That ground wire should still be "safed off" with a wire nut and tape or a closed end crimp connector and tape to prevent a problem if there were an exposed terminal below.
