Outside speakers

Plan on replacing the outside and inside speakers on my 2020 hideout. I know I'm going with a bigger 6.5" in the inside but will stick with the 5.25 on the outside. My question is what width speaker will work on the outside? Not wanting to spend a lot on the speakers just want something that sounds better than the junk stocks. Any recommendations on what speakers?

I think you might be asking what depth? Easiest thing to do is remove one and measure it. The measurement would be from the outermost surface of the magnet to the lip of the speaker itself. You can then take the diameter and the depth measurements and find the speakers that are in your price range. Web sites like https://www.crutchfield.com/c_20/Marine-Audio-GPS.html offer the capability of usin the size to list speakers.

Yea I meant the depth. I figured I ask on here first before i cut the sealant and had a potential leak while I wait for speakers to arrive. I tried searching for different options on here but couldn't find what I was looking for.

They are most likely shallow mount speakers. I would go for a name brand (I like Polk Audio) and spacers like in the attachment.
If you call Crutchfield they will help you out.
Good luck.
P.S. Run a thicker wire from speaker hole to deck, add a small (under 40 watt 2 channel ) Alpine amp

Marine speakers

I bought a pair of Pyle PLMR51W 100W 5.25 inch marine speakers ($45 CDN on Amazon.ca) to replace the 30W factory outside speakers. They are a shallow depth which fits perfect. My issue is that the factory speaker connections are larger than the new speakers so I have to either change the ends or make an adapter.
