Make sure they are toggled back closed before geting on the road again. I lost the flapper on the inside of mine because I did not make sure it was locked. I now put a "Remove before flight" tag on the cover outside when I unlock it, this way when I do my 360 walk around I remember to lock it again.

Turning on the hood vent isn't all there is to be done... on the outside the hood vent exhaust has a plastic vent door that has to be unlatched so it actually is pulling the hood vent air to the outside.
The smoke detectors are sensitive, but I wouldn't modify one myself. You can also open your living vent fan to help exhaust out cooking fumes or smoke... even with the air conditioner on.

We had the same issue with our 315RLS. The “vent” only recirculates so the alarm goes off. We have a vent fan in the middle of the unit and use it on low. Also found to cook bacon on low. Almost no splatter and very little smoke. My mom always cooked on high and I did until I had the smoke issue and tried the new method

I simply move the smoke alarm about 3 feet closer to the bedroom, no more alarms.

I simply moved the DW about 8' to the outside kitchen. That worked to!

Cook the bacon on a lower temp. Much less spatter and it cooks evenly. Alternate way of cooking is to use the microwave on a microwave bacon cooker. Takes just a few minutes and you can avoid the smoke.
Even better, just get a Blackstone grill and cook it outside along with the rest of your breakfast. They work very well, at least that's what I've been told. I still haven't gotten mine.

i had the same problem and worse as my stove fan doesn't vent outside. i bought a small George Foreman grill to cut down on grease splatter but found it also almost entirely eliminated the smoke detector going off which happened EVERYTIME i used the stove. because the grease drains off and the lid is closed while cooking it almost never sets off the alarm. as well it can be positioned close to the open kitchen window, makes great bacon/etc, its healthier, doubles as a toaster and is super easy to clean. $25 at Wally World

When you get that Blackstone you will find that it does work very well and....it IS even better!

We have a Fantastic Fan between our stove and the smoke alarm, and turning the fan on when there is a possibility of smoke has prevented the smoke alarm from going off.

Our over stove hood vent exhausts to the outside not recirculate. Others may recirculate but not ours.

It may not be an issue for anyone else, but I found that if I turn on a Fantastic fan or a MaxAire roof vent fan (without any filtration before the blades) I get cooking grease and dirt that fouls the blades and screen. It's "cleanable" but it's a hassle to take the fan apart, clean the grease and reassemble. Seems I never notice the dirty/greasy fan blades until we're dry camping, limited time to "work on the rig" and a vibrating fan that "bothers DW"....
So, if you do use a roof vent fan as a "kitchen grease/smoke evacuation fan" pay attention to how dirty it gets.... BTDT.
