Ceiling Fan

I would like to mount a ceiling fan in our bedroom. We have 3820FK so our bedroom is in the rear. The ceiling has a slope on the back 3rd of the coach so I’m trying to figure out how to mount the fan. Has anyone else tackled this project?

Unless you are doing it solely for the look, I would replace the roof vent with a Fantastic (or the like) in the roof vent. They can be reversed to blow into the compartment or blow interior air out, pulling air from a different part of the trailer. These type fans make a huge difference in comfort.

I agree. Most fans that can be mounted on a sloped ceiling are the house 120VAC variety and you'll need to figure out how to get that power to the location. Then there is the issue of bracing as they aren't light.

I installed a MaxAir in my bedroom vent, 10 speeds in/out, and makes a huge difference. Added another in the family room and run both in the evening and night to circulate the air.

We don’t have the option of adding a ceiling/vent as the AC/Heatpump is directly above the bedroom. I decided to go with a 42” 12v dc ceiling fan that weighs just under 6 pounds. I built a 6 inch square by 2 1/2 inch deep box that was cut to conform to the 2.2 inch degree slope of the ceiling. Attached this box to a roof rafter and then then mounted the fan on the box. I couldn’t build the box any deeper due to the fact that the fan blades need to clear 2 slides. For power I fished 18/4g wire across ceiling and down the wall to pickup power from ceiling light switch. Then mounted switch above the thermostat. The fan has made a significant difference in air flow, totally loving it. Attached is a couple of pictures.

Nice job....it looks good. Just curious though, what is the amp draw on the fan motor....is the 20ga wire big enough?

That should have read 18/4g. It is a brushless motor and draws less than 1 amp at highest speed. It is the Global Electric 12v dc fan.
