That sucks. I had to replace the roof on my house three years ago due to hail.

I just left the area on Sunday (Mountaindale RV Resort) and saw that in the news today.

Gotta love that Taber corn. We do it on the BBQ.

Back before '95 we lived in the Texas panhandle & replaced our roof 3 years in a row. Made money all 3 times by doing it ourselves along with roofing several friends & neighbors houses. Fast forward 23+ years & I'm about half afraid to go up & wash the roof of the 5th wheel now, sure not replacing any roofs.

I would agree totaled ours wasn’t that bad and they totaled it.

I guess I will know about the camper soon enough, but the first appointment I can get for the cars repair in the week after Thanksgiving. Ugh.

Bad Spot for RV Dealerships

It would have been wise for Those two RV dealerships to check weather patterns before building there and parking millions worth of equipment. That area is notorious for frequent, heavy hail storms that get pushed around Pikes Peak. A coworker had his unit at one of the dealerships for some minor repairs a month or so ago and it got hit with similar sized stones. Then it got hit a second time last week so he gets to make two claims and pay two deductibles.

I drive through there every weekday so it is only a matter of time until my truck gets popped. I have already been hit with some the size of Quarters right there by the RV lots. Fortunately, pickup truck sheet metal and windshield glass are a tad thicker than the sedans that were abandoned there last week, many missing windshields and rear windows.

We are in the Lake George Riverview campground but didn’t see any hail here. Perhaps we were a little further north than you were.

Luckily my coach was at my house prepping for a maiden voyage. We lost every vent cover including the entire refer vent, multiple dents, and a cracked cargo door, and house damage, but not to the extent of those not protected by a lot of trees. plus sad to say found a dead hummingbird. found a low profile metal vent that is going on soon.

I think the bathroom skylight is the worst immediate problem. It is a gaping hole. Even over the tub water can splash around in there.

As we hiked through Ute Valley Park in Rockrimmon this morning, my wife and I discussed getting a covered storage spot. It'll be more money but if it avoids one storm like that - it'll be worth the price.... Sorry about your RV! We were lucky to avoid the 2 costly storms this year. We figure it's only a matter of time - so time to get the covered spot.

We we're having the same conversation yesterday. The disruption to daily life is not covered by insurance.

Sorry about that! They just told me the 2013 Subaru is totaled and the 2017 Explorer has $8700 in damage. The house roof, decks, gutters, skylights, etc are all goners. Camper gets looked at in the morning....

I have a feeling the insurance rates for the Springs is going to go way up. Luckily our TT was in our driveway and protected by trees, lost all the vents, multiple dents, cracked hatch door and house damage but no truck damage. Get 3-5 calls a day from roofing companies wonder how they get our number. Hell of a storm

We had a massive hail storm last labor day weekend, on the Friday before. We had just pulled out for camping 2 hrs before it rolled through here, so the truck and trailer were spared. It was large golf ball sized and totaled our roof. We had dozens of roofing companies stopping by and calling over the next few weeks trying to get our service. I eventually found one and got the roof replaced in December, as one of the the last in our neighborhood. I feel your pain.

We had this cover built and a few months later got hit by hail the took out the tin roof on it plus the roof and skylights on the house and the wife's F150.

I was glad it was there, replacing the roof on it was covered under the house deductible, instead of a separate one for the camper.

Nice! I wish we could build one and store it, at the house.

I think the most impressive thing about this storm was, the grill on the back deck. 1/8" stainless steel dented. The house roof is stone coated steel. It has made it through multiple 2" hail storms. Many of these stones were over 3". There just isn't much that could stand up to this size of hail.
