How can I add a Canoe to my Travel Package

I have a '06 Dodge Ram short bed that pulls my '06 Montana 2955RL. I want to add a 14' or 16' canoe to our getaways. does anyone have some advise on where I can store the canoe on my travels????

Thank You
Jaybird

As you can see from my signature pic we opted to put it on the truck roof.

Not easy to get it on top of the fiver and that would just make it taller than it already is anyways.

Our canoe is just over 16 ft.

We can get two canoes on the roof when we do shuttles with friends.

We decided to go with a Sea Eagle inflatable Kayak..... holds up to 3 people or 650 pounds about 12 ft long.... weighs 36 pounds and easily stored in the basement of our 2012 327res..... check them out on the their website.

i would opt for the truck roof. you can get a nice set up for fairly cheap. i have also seen people put a receiver on the front of the truck with a bar stretched up to support the front of it. i have been thinking about getting a couple of canoes, but my kids are still just a little young to have to worry about that problem yet.
