Talking

I like your detailed analysis Looks close, the casino stop could tilt in in your direction. Since so close may want to review impact of restroom stops back and forth. Good Luck

Yup! That's our story north of the border!

To follow up on this. I ordered a new water heater today. $800.00 + provincial sales tax @ 8% + GST (federal tax ) @ 5% = a total of $904.00 .

That was the best I could do on local price. I did for giggles call 2 more dealers in Winnipeg . They were just retarded . GNR was 1250.95 + tax , Can Am was $950 + tax .

So I did not bad with my local auto parts store that just happens to have access to RV parts.

I get the heater in 2 weeks . ( could of had tomorrow ) But , I think I will wait till more snow is gone from my yard and I have better access to trailer.

Done deal. Thank you again to everybody for there help.

Carl, I looked on up on line for delivery to Florida and total with tax and shipping it was about $550.00. Your price figuring the rate of exchange is about $675.00. So I don't think your final price was as bad as you might think.

Jim , I think I did OK for our region . I am just thankful the local auto parts store handles RV stuff as well.

I would have bled money if I had to deal with the RV dealers in the city. ( the greedy buggers )

In a perfect world , Kathie and I would have made a trip south and swapped it out then . Unfortunately that is not in the cards until maybe this next winter . I just could not wait that long and risk damaging something else. The lining has disintegrated enough , it was time . Pretty blueish pieces coming out of anode port . Why ? I have no clue .

And as they say , nothing is forever . I got 6 years out of existing tank . I will chalk it up to regular maintenance .

Now to get trailer out of the snow bank and go through it and see what else fell apart over the winter. lol That would be a couple of weeks away for us here .

Cheers

Well, I picked up the new water heater yesterday. $904.00 after taxes I escaped the parts supply place.

I got the chance this morning to have a peek inside the carton . It was even the correct unit.

I did notice however , no brass fittings for inlet and outlet come with it. Good thing I am a pack rat and scavenged every last piece off of old tank.

So I am golden with no extra cost. I though the old fittings in CLR on my out the door this morn and came home to new looking fittings.

Snow is all finally gone here for now . ( supposed to snow here on Sunday ) So I should have a chance to install this coming weekend .

I will keep you all informed as to how long it took in beer time. LOL

Best guess , 1 hr of my life to install and 4 hours of beer time in garage

4:1 ratio gotta be close

Have you got butyl tape or something to go under the flange when re-mounting it to seal it?

Great for letting us know how things went! By the way do not send that snow down this way, thinking about dewinterizing
