I just leave mine in the hopper where the ice drops.

Love my ice maker...

We love the Ice maker.... Wife was a little skeptic to buy one but I did anyway and now we use it all the time. Great for drinks don't expect to have tons of ice for coolers but it is great for cold drinks. The ice scoop could stay in the bin but it took up space that the ice needed. This way the bin stays as full as possible all the time.
