Power awning question?

I have a Springdale 5er with aluminum siding. I am wanting to install a power awning with a buffet control. Can the arms be attached to my unit? Not being flat fiberglass is there still enough contact to attach the arms? Anybody tried this?

The brackets bolt to the frame, so the siding material should be irrelevant. It's more likely that you will damage the aluminum when the brackets are bolted snugly.
