I read and read all the postings and such about weight limits and what was considered safe, etc, etc. Finally I just made this decision:

Own a 2007 GMC Duramax 2500HD club cab, 4x4 short bed
Bought Alpine 2014 3010RE
Truck has firestone airbag and on board compressor
Truck bought new by me, maintained by me

Pull the Alpine in the mountains, longest trip one way so far is 650 miles

Fuel mileage is 12.5 unless heavy headwinds - then about 8.5

TST tire pressure system on rear drive wheels of truck and all 4 tires of fiver

No issues going going downhill 6 to 8% grade - use towhaul mode always and let the Allison handle maintaining a safe downhill speed

Never an issue with smoking brakes - if you know how to use your Allison transmission you just aren't going to have an issue

Max tow speed is never over 62

Issues - none
