Storage in sofa

Storage .... I never seem to have enough. Our Cougar has the old style sofa bed with the thin foam mattress. I would not ask my worst enemy to sleep on this thing ... the floor is more comfortable. My plan for this afternoon is to remove the heavy metal folding bed and make room for needed storage.

Gutted the metal bed frame

Framed to hold the seat/lid on each side

Installed the removable plywood lid

AFTER

Looks the same as before but plenty of storage room for Lynns sewing machine and quilting "stuff" + the upright vacuum. I am pretty sure we lost a few pounds too. (Now if I could only loose some also)

Great job. Now if I could just figure out how to do that with a jack knife sofa...

As I mentioned in my original post, I would not ask my worst enemy to try and sleep on that thing. I am sure that was the main reason they went to the air bed or jack-knife sofa in recent models. Most of our friends have their own RVs so we have never had any need for a "guest bedroom". All of our grandkids have either four legs or feathers so no problem there. Travel safely, Hank

Do you mean to say that we have not one but two Hanks on the forum who think the same way? Pretty scary and Halloween isn't even here yet.

Ahhhh yes ... and to make it even more spooky, one of them was married on Halloween 43 years ago. Makes it very easy to remember the anniversary. That couch is also a great place to store Lynn's broom while traveling. Travel safely and Trick-or-Treat, Hank ...... the one without Rascal

Actually I was warned by the priest on the alter that I was marrying a Witch, but not to worry because in a few years the first letter was bound to change. He was wrong!!!!

Do you think I got myself out of that one???

Hank,

Nice recovery! If that doesn't work, you might have to use that sofa for a while.
