Sewer hose storage tube
I want to install a sewer hose storage tube under my unit. My daughter wants to give me one as a gift, so she wants to know what size I need.
Problem is, my FW is stored 100 miles from home for the winter. Can anyone tell me the measurement between the frames? If someone could measure across between the screws holding the skirts, it would be appreciated. I have a 2010 Cougar High Country, 291 RLS
Here is what I want:

Thanks

sewer pipe
I just used a piece of PVC pipe and welded two muffler clamps to the frame glued one end and put the threaded end on. Works like a charm Cut the PVC to 92 inches tightened the bolts and it was ready to go.

I thought of doing that, but I cannot find a 5 inches tube. My Rhino hose does not fit easily in a 4 inches tube and 6 inches seems big.

I used 6 inch sewer and drain and cut it just shy of 8 feet. I then hung it from hangers I made from all thread and aluminum stock. I plan on adding 3-4 more tubes for additional storage under the TT frame. On those I'm going to split in the middle and add a union with a stop so each tube will make a 4 foot storage compartment on each side. Here is a pick of my sewer tube.....

I bought a 5" PVC fence post, 8 feet long. Two end caps. An 8 foot PVC gutter that slides right in. Riveted hinges and clasps on the end caps and then mounted it under the trailer as close to the drain out as I could.

^Likewise, minus the gutter as a tray which I cannot find up here.
That being said, I'm surprised how reasonably priced the hose storage tubes are.

Gutter? I looked at the photo you posted and that's not like any gutter I've ever seen. A gutter has a lip on it. Your photo has perfectly shaped "U" to it.
Care to elaborate on where you got that "gutter" insert?
BTW, your modification looks "GREAT". I'm going to do the same.
Happy trails,

Likewise, I got mine at Lowes. $6.86 for a 10' section.

Quiroule,
It does not look like anyone really answered your request. If you still need the measurements, I will measure my 2011 291RLS in the morning and provide you the info requested.

The reason we use 6" you can put the connection end in the PVC . I used 6" black PVC and two rubber caps with hose clamps and two 6" ubolts to mount. Don't forget to drill a small hole into the end caps.

My FZ300 came with one 6"X24" house carrier and I ordered another one from Amazon.
Sent from my iPhone.

I like the 5 inch square fence post with insert much better. That way I can store anything I want and just pull the insert out to access it. No need to try and reach way inside for something.
Great idea.
Going to Lowes to buy the parts.
Happy trails,

A friend of mine got this. I like it better than the gutter because it's adjustable.

I too once had a 5 inch square post mounted across the bottom from frame to frame on my former TT for my stinky slinky and sure was nice for the storage but if I only knew that my black water tank was sitting right above my modification (hidden by the underbelly Coroplast). After leaving a camping outing, I decided to traveled home with the tank not emptied and figured the slushing around would break up the solids making it easier to drain and it ended up with a 12 inch crack from the weight of the waste rubbing against the slinky storage. BOY, what a mess and SMELL.
I removed the storage and relocated it to the front of the TT just behind the Tongue and after pricing a Black Tank (forget it $$$), I decided to repair it myself, (not difficult as all). Glad I did that then but all behind me now since I purchased my existing 5th wheel! So...Good Luck!

Good info Mobile42,
Thanks everyone,
When Albert gives me his measurements I should be in business.

Now is someone wanted to be real inventive you could slide the "U'" shaped gutter from the 5 inch PVC post and use that as a drain support. That would serve two purposes instead of one.
Happy trails,
