Shake Down 2010 Passport 2910 BH

First Real camping trip for the year and the shake down trip for the new camper. Got my first mod in, for some reason keystone did not put hardly any plugs in the camper. So first things first had to add a plug. Also got a 12V water pump to get the water out of the 5gal bucket into the camper. Only have one complaint with the new campers. The mattresses are a joke, a 4” Mem foam from Walmart fixed that. Family loves it so far and the feeling of “whose camper is this anyway” is wearing off. Little rainy but its been a great weekend so far.

Excellent placement for that outlet. I'd like to do the same. What'd you hook it up to?

Worked out great, the inverter is right next to the dinette, Probably not the best plan but I hooked into the water heater lead. Put my multi meter in the outlet and ran it through its paces and it staid right were I wanted. Did it wile DW was at work so she didn't see me putting holes in the new camper lol.

Picked up our Cougar 31 RKS Wednesday and did our shakedown in Branson until Friday. The outlets in the kitchen area are all up under the upper cabinates. None in the walls. No outlets in the slides. No outlets in the outer walls except the outside GFIS. I think it must have something with running the wiring through the aluminum frame.

Our tank/batt monitor panel is in the far rear kitchen. If the slideout is in, as in stop at a rest area to use the Potty, you must climb over the dining booth seats to get to the panel to turn on the pump, go back to the front to use the facility then climb over the booth again to turn the pump off. That panel should be with the other main control panel just inside the door.

The bathroom exhaust fan switch is in the ceiling with the fan. My wife can't reach it. There should be a wall switch.

Other than that, we are very happy with this TT.

It has been a cool week end, and it seems between coffee, tea and a rain it seems we have cool walls and condensation builds up on the walls in the master bedroom. Any Ideas on keeping that from happening would be great. Also the tank sensors need cleaned, I dump the gray water into my portable tank 22gal. and it still said 3/4 full. Blackwater sensor is all confused. So a little work will be needed there.

You are not the first to encounter faulty readings on your tank monitors. The black tank especially is notorious for this and closely followed by the gray tank monitors.

There have been extensive discussions about tank monitors on the forum and if you were to do a forum search, you should be able to find all kinds of posts/threads about this topic ("black tank"/ "tank monitors"../. tank sensors"). If, after browsing through the threads, you cannot find any discussions about what people do help with this problem, repost your problem here and tell us you can't find anything and we will help you out.

The condensation issue may be solved by maintaining a flow of air throughout your unit. Keep a window or windows open a bit and try opening your ceiling vents to help with the circulation. Lighting the stove or having the furnace run will both contribute to this problem - especially when it is warm inside the unit and cooler outside.

Many people experience condensation on the windows and; to a lesser extent, on the walls. If you're plugged in to shore power and use electric heat instead of the furnace, that will help reduce the condensation as well.

I did a search on the condensation and found some great suggestions. And it seems the tank sensors are a common headache. All new quirks of having a hard side. But its been great this weekend even in the rain. I have been able to defiantly stay dry.
