slide maintenance

When my slideout out often times the water guard/flap/seal turns in on itself. I have been manuaally just pulling it into place and seems to work. Should i spray it with dry lube? Or any other kinda maintenance to do to a slide. do i need to lube or treat anything. my previous camper had no slide - so new to me. thanks.

They sell a spray for the slide out seals (slider Spray)which i apply a couple of times a season and when i closet it up for the winter.. But the seals still turn in on them selves but it does keep the lubricated.

Mine did that until I rubbed both sides of seals with 303 Protectorant. Now they work fine.

I'll check that out. Do you wipe it off after applying? Does it magnet dust?

I use spray slide seal lubricant. It comes in a spray can from CW and as long as the seals are clean there is no dust/dirt buildup. (I wipe mine with a cloth liberally wetted with warm soapy water followed by a clear water rinse)

Essentially, the slide lubricant is a foaming dry silicone spray that goes on moist, dries in a few minutes and doesn't stay wet, so it doesn't attract dirt or grime to the seals. Once dry, they seals feel slick and sort of "powdery" if that could be a "new word" to describe dry slick rubber.

Doesn't seem to attract dirt. I can spray the side facing out, then a quick wipe, but I use a small rod with a cloth wet with 303 to rub the side I can't reach.
