Bullet 2730BH

Hello, my name is Charles and I’m in the Raleigh, NC area. I just picked up my first travel trailer (Bullet 2730BH) and I’ve got a Tacoma TRD Pro to tow it. Going to do my first shakedown trip tomorrow and can’t wait to get the family out on some trips.

Welcome to the forum Charles and congrats on the new trailer. RVs and camping can be great, wonderful experiences. Towing an RV comes with a lot of requirements to keep a person and their families safe.

What prompted the choice of trailer vs the Tacoma? Not trying to rain on your parade, but more importantly, hopefully shedding some light.

That trailer is a 7600lb., 31+' RV. That is far more than a Tacoma should try to tow safely IMO. Are you aware of the trailer specs and the Tacoma's as well? The payload of the Tacoma and other weights etc.?

Upfront just looking without truck specifics it sure looks like you are going to be overweight, towing with a Tacoma (not really a tow vehicle) and trying to do all that with children (bunkhouse). IMO you need to look a little deeper.

Congratulations on the new rv! Hope your trip goes well!
Just be VERY careful!
I agree with sourdough that you've probably gotten more rv than you have truck for.
The tongue weight alone with 7600 GVWR TT will be 900lbs + on a truck that probably doesn't have much more than a 1200lb payload & wasn't deigned to be a rv tow vehicle but rather a handyman's hauler.
Hopefully you don't feel "jumped on by the weight police" but take the advice & check your numbers for the safety of you & your family.

In line with what the two Danny's above have said, your Trd Pro has an 1100
pound cargo capacity and Toyota claims a 6400 pound towing capacity. (That last number means absolutely nothing in the real world)
You have about half enough truck to do the job your asking. Keep in mind you will be towing a massive sail ,and your little truck is NOT up to the task.
But, welcome to the forum regardless.

Welcome to the forum. I hope you don't view the recommendations on your truck's capability negativley. Believe me, everyone has the safety of you and you're family's best interest in mind. The vast majority of folks here have been thru a similar situation.
