Vinyl and Carpet Flooring

Does anyone know if the factory vinyl/ laminate flooring typically continues to run under the carpet?
We have been full time in our camper since July 2017, and are in the process of building our first house. That being said we are wanting to sell it towards the end of summer once we get moved into the new house. Most of the carpeting should be fine with a good cleaning, there's no stains or spots, just general dirt. The problem is last night one of our dogs decided to chew at the edge of the carpet right in front of the couch. Since we are hoping to sell it soon, we don't want to spend the money to replace all the carpet and I know I would never be able to find new carpeting for just that area that would match the existing carpet. I was thinking of trying to just remove all or some of the carpeting in that area since there is only about a 7 inch section of visible carpet that sticks out in front of the couch.
Just curious if anyone who has removed their carpet and found that the vinyl floor continues under the carpet?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum

As a rule, once the sub floor is installed, the vinyl flooring is rolled out the entire length and secured at the edges. Then the cabinets are built on top of that.

If carpet was used under a slide, removing it may cause the slide to mark the Lino when retracted/extended.

Thank you for the input. Thankfully the carpet area that got chewed is not in one of the slide outs. I'll include a picture of the floor plan.

Puling the staples was the hardest part. Vise Grips and needle nose pliers to grab hold of them. Using vise grips you can lock on to the staple and then pry them out by rolling the curved jaw along the floor. Staples that broke off but could be felt still were driven below surface with a hammer. Holes were left alone as they were small and not too noticeable. If you get on your hands and knees and know where to look you can find them but for the most part not noticeable.

Clean up was easy as there wasn't any adhesive sweep, just scrub the stubborn spots and mop. we mopped a couple of times to get it all. There was a lot of dirt under the carpet probably adding a few pounds to the weight of the trailer...

I yanked the carpet in my camper and found there was lino under. Problem was, they didn't sweep good before putting down the lino and it was full of bumps and a couple of fasteners pop throughs. Since I put plank flooring over the lino, it didn't matter but would not have been able to just leave the lino as the flooring.
