Outside back skin pulling away - 2013 Bullet Premier 22'
Hi All,
Back from a recent trip from Iowa to Washington State. On the second day out in Wyoming, we had some REALLY high winds. I noticed at a rest stop that the top of the outer back wall, where it meets the roof and the edging (and is caulked) the upper edge was bowed out and pulling away with about a 4" long rip / tear in the caulking.
When we stopped in Billings Montana for the night, I noticed that this "tear" had now enveloped the whole top of the panel with only about 4" on either side where the caulking was still intact.
Using the 4" black Gorilla tape that I always keep in the camper for whatever might come up (a trick I learned in the Army with "100 mile an hour" tape) I taped the panel, securing it to the sides of the camper and the roof. It made it the rest of the 4176 mile trip that way.
Has anyone had something like this happen to them? What were the repair strategies?
I'm thinking that I have three options.
1) Get rid of the camper - but it fits our needs perfectly
2) Find out the pattern of the aluminum in the back wall and screw on metal moldings, flattening the panel, get it back up under the roof edging and re-caulk.
3) Pull the panel off, do some wire upgrades (like wire for a backup camera) then glue the panel back on.
I welcome any thoughts or suggestions. If anyone has a picture of, and or the layout of the aluminum of the back wall of the Bullet Premiers I would appreciate it.
