Rear view camera

Hello, I am thinking about getting a wireless rear view camera for a Cougar 22rbs. Reading camera reviews on the internet gives me pause because of the loss of signal while moving. Does anyone have a good recommendation for one you have use with good results?
thanks
Bill

Very few people are going to have connectivity problems. There's always someone who'll say they did, but they are going to be in the minority. It's going to depend on a lot of factors, not the least of which is the distance between the camera and the receiver.

I purchased the Furrion rear observation camera (note: This is different from the back-up camera) and it works fine - connectivity-wise. I'm not real happy with the picture quality and so I've been thinking about the Haloview system.

We have the Furrion vision S and have never had it drop a signal. We have a 39’ 5th wheel.

Most of the major companies have signal boosters you can install if there is a signal dropout issue.

I have the Furrion and a 43' 5er. Mine seems to depend on what I am around on the freeway when I lose picture. When I do its only for a second so I do not sweat it. Picture is not HD but does the trick. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the replies. I hedging to the Haloview RD7. I really like the idea of moving the transmitter to the front of the trailer. Plus the side cameras seem like a nice upgrade in the future.

We have never experienced conductivity loss on our Furrion cameras. We use the rear camera rear while towing. Rarely use the side cameras.

I've had a wireless system for over three years. I kept on experiencing signal drop, so I moved transmitter in rig closer to the front. Finally, transmitter ended up in the nose of the rig. Less than 10 feet from the receiver.

Worked great in rural areas, but I still experienced signal drop in congested areas. Finally figured out why, it had nothing to do with my setup. Every time that I got close to another vehicle with camera system (or TPMS which uses the same frequency), my signal would drop. Figured that their signal overpowered mine. Likely to get worse as more and more vehicles have wireless camera systems installed.

I finally hard wired the video feed (one extra connection when hitching). Haven't lost picture since.

I bought an RVS "wired rear camera system" in 2010. It's been installed on 3 different tow vehicles and on two different fifth wheels. It works as well today as it did the first day I installed it and I've never had a "dropped signal" a "blurry signal" or a "non-viewable image". While probably not for everyone, it is the most reliable, dependable rear camera system I've ever used or even read about. YMMV
