Kestone uses those wire tap clips on new equipment as well. I was under my 08 Big Sky the other day doing some work and had to pull down the underbelly plastic. While I use these clips for some things and never had problems...I was disappointed to see they were factory installed.

I also sent an email to Keystone for various things shortly after I bought it and got a similar BS response. Among the problems were sawdust, dirt, and other construction debris around the converter under the stairs, the water heater, and furnance areas. There were other things too and several items I had to get fixed under warranty.

I have to say, overall I have been dissapointed with the quality of the Keystone product...so much so, I may never buy another Keystone.

I don't think its the poor service its the money, people are to greedy today and want to make lots of money for their time. Its the poor workmanship that some people today just don't care. I bought a new 5th whell trailer last year and had the dealer in Grand Rapids MI install the hitch. I did not check it out at the time but when I got home over 100 miles away I noticed one of the bolts was not even tightened down and the trailer was not level at all,I had to lower the hitch 2 inches to make it level. So I know what you mean. If you want something done right we have to do it ourselves. In my case if the mechanic dit not notice the loose bolt and that the trailer was not level he should not be working at a dealership at all.
Cheers

This is where we should be glad we care. We bought RVs not because they were worry free but because it was a lifestyle. Now I will admit that I had a list of issues that I complained to Keystone customer service about, none rectified. But at a certain point, I just decided that I could beuild my own, better. Geo has shown all of us just how bad the furnace ducting is, others have shown how the AC ducts were not even taped. I think you hit the nail on the head with the people are entitlist. They get paid and believe they should get more. They half way put any attention to what they are doing. I rarely see any business (let alone RV repair) take pride in their work. the ones that do, get my money. For the rest, I have learned to do it myself. for what it's worth, my brake repair from the blow out (ripped electric wires) were re-spliced using wire nuts with zero tape or water proofing. They hang down off the axle, I guess they will never get wet.

Its simple- its price! Keystone wants to make money- that is what they are in business for- EVERYONE shops price when they buy a camper. I bought my cougar 325srx- because it was affordable. If it was $50,000 I would not have bought it.

As a contractor- I loose jobs every day for a less then 10% to uninsured, contractors. In the end- I call it a walmart world where every one wants it for less, then complains about the crappy quality, then goes out and buys another on price.

Quality of workers starts from the top. If you yell all day to get more done, quality goes down. But if you give people time to do it right they will. but that cost more, so you loose sales. Its a tough balance.

I didn't haggle on the price it was in the qoute and I didn't ask them to do it for lees. We were there for the pdi which me and my wife took about 4 hrs to do so time wasn't an issue either. It was more of I don't really care about how I do the job plain and simple. I got a half done job because I simple let someone who didn't care do it. I don't fault them I knew I should have done it myself and thats all there was to it. I did call and tell them about it and they said bring it back in and we will make it right! Okay do they honestly think I am that stupid he didn't care the first time whats gonna happen when his boss tells him to do it again,. I am going to pass and do what I should have done in the first place. JUST DO IT MYSELF PERIOD.

When I bought our 5'er (second trailer in 15 months at same dealer) I walked out on the PDI. I told the tech call me when you have your S&*& together. I then kissed my wife (in her own truck) and drove off. I got 3 calls (that I ignored) and finally got a called from the Service Manager. Since then, they have tried hard to make it right. I just don't trust them anymore. I'm with you, I'd rather be certain of the repair or work rather than wonder if this was a good day or bad day for the tech.

I've had a three fivers, all from different manufacturers. They've all left sawdust, dirt paper, etc in the out of the way places. My last fiver had an issue with the A/C duct to the bedroom.. hardly any flow. I took the cover off and got snowed on by little white pellets of styrofoam. Still didn't help the flow, the duct was probably partially collapsed somewhere along the run from the A/C. The staples they use in the framework and trim is also a joke. (So is some of the framework wood.)
Just venting now.....
