Kayak inside TT

Has anyone carried their kayak inside their TT? I've been slightly hesitant, but think it can be done. I measured an area that it should fit, but haven't tried it. The attached picture show the possible location. I would put foam and/or towels around it. Any thoughts?

If you can fit it through the door and onto the floor, the biggest obstacle is securing it in position with the foam/towels during travel. Maybe, installing a system of buckled straps would also work to secure it down.

I invested in a couple inflatable Sea Eagle kayaks last year and they have worked out for us. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

With the slide in, it won't have much room to move around.

Just remember that ANY movement will mar any surface contacting it. It doesn't take long, or far, to take the finish off the front of a fridge or woodwork. I would think about blankets instead of towels and heavy duty bubble wrap taped to the kayak might help too. Might want to put something on the floor to protect it as well.

I was thinking of slinging mine under the toy hauler Happi-Jack beds with straps designed to hang from the wall. Haven't done it yet but will try it in the next couple of weeks.

I have some foam mats for a weight room that would be a good option for the floor. Wrapping the kayak in moving blankets should work.

If it becomes a burden, I'll just forego the whole idea. I was curious if anyone had experience transporting kayaks inside.

Been there, tried that here is what I did

I may have more in the racks than the kayacks but they work good on the roof, by the way got tired of putting bikes inside, front hitch solved that problem!

Schwalback, don't you suppose you're wasting the space on the sides of that truck? Surely you could strap some fishing gear or more toys on your spare space!
By the way, DW and I had breakfast a couple weeks ago at The Kitchen Table down on 3rd Street. It was great; homemade bread and fruit dishes. We heartily recommend it.

Notanlines,

Can't see it but in the box is a 35 gal spare water tank, Blue 35 gal dump tank (tried to mount under camper, but not happening), portable satellite dish (full Directv 3 lnb, off a house), fifth wheel tripod, 10 x 20 canopy, extra propane tank for portable grill, blocking, firewood etc. basically a full box, keep running out of room, never thought about strapping to sides! Have a rock guard bolted to the hitch on back so no more room there.

The 5th wheel came with stickers that said 1/2 ton towable all over it, sure would like to see that scale out! The heavy 3/4 ton is maxed out (at least when we leave out, lot less liquid refreshments and food on way back)(maybe I am carrying to many accessories?)

I have a 17' Glastron boat with I/O engine, everyone keeps telling me to hook it up behind. I have a cdl and doubles triples classification(though not needed in WI to tandem tow), but maybe that is what has kept me from hooking it on the back (or maybe it is the 3,000 lbs on the weak trailer frame).

The 6.0 gas has plenty of power for any hills here is central WI, but just can't bear to think about the 68 feet I would be tip to tip. State patrol says I can be 70 feet, not sure I want to test it.

By the way for anyone wondering I have scaled it and while maxed out on all axles I am not over!

Strapping to the sides.......wonder what I could put on there.....truck has aluminum headache rack so mounting brackets would be easy...now you got me thinking.....

Do I here Amazon calling...Oh yeah I have been banned from Amazon when the racks, and front hitch bill came! I have vacation all next week to ponder what to strap on......and lighten the load to come back!

with my old camper, 28' mako, door near the back, I put 3 kayaks in. 11' all the way up front. No bedroom slide. wornout pool float to keep it from sliding around.
12.5' over the dinette and couch in the slide. Upside down, stayed put. 13.5 on its side on the floor. Bringing the slide in held it in place. draped sheets over them. Works great until you stop over night, they all have to come out. Don't have that problem anymore with the Fuzion. Don't get me wrong though, I took care of the old one, kayaks had to be clean and secure.
