Dishnet internet

Need to ask if anyone out there has DishNet in there home and RV? We have a dome X2 dish(Dishnet) on top of our RV and we would like to take our HDTV DVR Satellite receiver from our house to use in the RV. Can it be done??

Thanks

We have a Winegard Carryout G2 / Automatically locks on satellites /is good for Dishnet (SD/HD) and dishtv

Your antenna must be HD compatible for it to work, most RV domes are standard definition. Check the documentation for yours.

I can't find any info on a "dome X2" satellite antenna. Double check your antenna model.

We have a tailgater with a 211K receiver. We get HDTV, added a external hard drive and paid Dish network $40 to activate the DVR functions. The DVR functions are very limited because you only have 1 tuner.

I take one of the home DVRs with us every trip. Sometimes we never hook up the dish, just watch what we have recorded

I have the same Carryout unit, with DISH, and it works great! The only thing I lose are local channels I have at home, and thats only of I stray too far from home (they base your local channels on a range from your home address). You can call Dish and they can change your programing to make your local channels (ABC/NBC/CBS/etc), where you are currently camping, local channels while you are there.

The only problem with that is any other DVR you have left back at home, and set up to record from those local channels at home, would fail to record when they change the programing for where you are camping. You would need to call Dish back when you get home and have them switch the local programing back. Otherwise, I have no complaints and recommend that setup.

According to Winegard, it is HD with one of the following receivers

DISH Receivers: Solo HD receivers. (Examples: DISH 211z, 211k, 211, and 411 receivers.)
