Lifan Inverter Generators

I have noticed that Home Depot carries these units for sale online only in Canada. They have a 3300 inverter gen set with remote start and eco idle for $1100 and change. There are not very many reviews on the web about them, some on amazon and a common theme seems to be damage in shipping etc. Does anybody have one of these or know someone that does?

It is tempting at 1/3 the cost of a Honda!

I have one...

I purchased a compact unit from our RV dealer that didn't have enough power to run our a/c and returned it shortly after. I did a ton of recon on generators after trying to find one that would run our 15k BTU AC and didn't want to spend on the money on a Honda or two Yamaha's.

The Lifan is awesome. Just awesome. I've read some reviews that the exhaust has broken off, but likely from shipping or dropping etc. It powers our entire 293sbh. We actually glued one of the remotes beside the control panel incase you need power in the middle of the night. No complaints as far as operation or reliability goes but then again we have only used it 5 or 6 times. It is quiet and good on fuel.

The "but"....

It's heavy... heavy like trying to man handle a mule up a back staircase.

Its awkward... because of it's design there is no easy way to lift it.

Worth the money IMO.

Lifan is sold by Home Depot in the states. They show various models on their web site.

After hours of research and watching every you tube video I could on every brand genset I could find, I was settled on the Yamaha 2000 which is a super inverter generator, but I decided instead to go with the Honda 2000 for two main reasons. Honda does have a carburetor bowel drain even though many Yamaha supporters say it doesn't, and the Honda 2000 has a 98cc motor where most all the others are 79cc or less. Plus later if needed it can be parallel with a like unit to produce 3600 watts of power for about the same price as a 3K unit that that will only produce maybe 2600 watts of starting draw power (the two smaller units are much easier to handle)

Really do your research before you buy, my thoughts were, for $300 more I could have a million times tried & proven unit instead of taking a chance in a lesser model and having to buy a better unit after the warranty ran out and it failed.

Just my 2 cents

Reading Lifan's literature, they do have a fuel drain for the fuel bowl. The website does show a duo-power to connect two together.

Might be worth more investigation at a local dealer.
