We park on crushed limestone (Afton #20) which is the floor of our pole barn. I've got 1/2" OSB that I cut 12" x 96" strips that we back the tires onto. Does it help? Probably not, but it makes me feel better so I do it. So far, the OSB hasn't deteriorated, so I know there's no standing water under the tires. If you're going to be stored outside, you might want to use 2x10 blocks to back onto if you decide to park the tires "off the gravel"

Do a forum search for tire storage, there have been several threads recently in the Tires, Tires, Tires section about whether to isolate tires when parked on asphalt, gravel, in water, etc. Everyone seems to have an "opinion" and they are all pretty well discussed in those threads.

Good luck

I store my rig on crushed stone pad in my yard. I installed 4 permanent concrete pavers under then footprint of the tires ton provide an elevated surface with good drainage and don't allow the tires to sink over time. Seems to work well.
