Keysstone Rolling out new 5ver

https://camperreport.com/new-keyston...ts-high-marks/

Not sure what to think about all the electronic innovations; kind of like old school tech in that regard. Had a hard time following the sub-floor description but it looks like Keystone is trying to think out of the box. Profile of this 5ver is kind of distinctive.

Thanks George. Yep, thinking out of the box like KeyTV, probably InCommand. Looked to me like they are trying to provide "cures" when there wasn't a problem but we'll see.

Wonder how much it will cost. A crawl space for us techs to fix everything?

Looks like keystone is doubling down on 1/2 ton towable fifth wheels....they still have the 1/2 ton models but the new Arcadia comes in a 3/4 ton towable model as well

^^^^^ Yep, 1/2 tons running around 10-12k gvw and now we have "3/4 ton towables"; guess that's maybe 14-15k gvw? We'll see. Lots of sales hot buttons in that video.

No way I can fit either, just though I would pull your leg. BTW mine will fit.

It would almost seem like they are painting themselves into a corner...once they start actually defining what vehicle can tow what fifth wheel. It’s almost taking the responsibility away from the purchaser and making keystone more culpable in the tow vehicle selection. When they only had the 1/2 ton then it was easy to say “well it doesn’t really mean 1/2 ton tow vehicle”.
But now they are starting a pattern of sizing for specific trucks.
Too bad they are off by a few thousand pounds

You can bet that the building full of barristers they keep on retainer have reviewed all the footnotes, fine print, and disclaimers to cover their buts.

Yeah, another market milestone! 3/4 ton ready with a pin weight north of 3K lbs. Good job guys... we see the next gen of bamboozled truck owners coming to find they are way over their payload as Keystone and ever faithful sales guys lead them down the primrose path. Bet the 1/2 ton isn't anywhere near 1/2 ton towable as well. They did mention that they were going to start color coding DC wiring. That is a step in the right direction.

If anyone has a chance to walk through the Arcadia this week at the Tampa RV show, it would be great if you would provide a review of your initial thoughts. Would also be good if you could find out MSRP, shipping weight, carrying capacity and tongue weight - which are not listed on the web site.

If you follow the industry, you already know that Lippert bought CURT Hitch company last year. Much of what CURT built is the same, but a significant part of Lippert's "inexpensive hitch products" now bears the CURT name. What once was a "built in America with quality steel" is now "Imported by Lippert where it is built with Chinese steel"...

I'm not implying that the new Keystone RV line is "Chinese junk". I've never seen one and have only read what's on the Keystone website. However, they are "boasting quality brands" that have since been bought by Lippert...

This may be a great trailer line or it may go the way of their "last great introduction, the Vantage line.....

As with most of the recommendations to forego a "first year introduction" from the automotive companies, I'd let someone else be the "consumer test bed" for something as expensive as this. YMMV

Yeah, looks cool, but there is no way on god's green earth I'd ever own a first year model of one of these. All those builders building them for the first time? All the new joints/seams/potential leak spots that haven't been long term evaluated? Sounds like a potential for another miracle invention, like wrapping the underside (wheel wells) in darco, and darco only...

Montana has been using color coded 2V wiring for a couple of years. As for the other flaunted whopdedoo's, most are keystone owned things that are already in use in other brands. The "Crawl Space" is a new innovation but I need to see it before having an opinion.

Since the website only shows one model of the 3/4 ton truck line and no 1/2 ton truck model they need to open the kimono a tad more before I jump in.

The 1/2 ton model had a floor plan and no pics or specs.
