Television Winter Storage

Looking for input on leaving the TV in the TT over the winter or bring it inside? This is our first TT with a mounted TV and wondering if the cold will damage it over the winter

We bring ours in each winter, not sure if anything would happen but better safe than sorry I guess. We had a screen to a laptop freeze and crack once so we bring them in, I am sure they are different though. When we were seasonal and had the older big box tv's, we left them for the winter.

I don't know the answer but ... think of all the RV dealers in the states that have freezing winter temps. I can't imagine that they bring all the TV's into some form of heated storage from all the campers waiting to be sold. Not to mention keeping track of which TV goes to which RV. This, of course, doesn't mean it's good for the TV.

Either way, I'm curious as well since this is our 1st RV with a TV.

Look at your TV owner's manual. It should have two sets of temperatures: Operational temperatures and storage temperatures. That should give you some indication of how to protect your TV.

We leave our TV's in the RV all year and have never had a problem even with temperatures in single digits.

I too have left the flat screens in the rig over the last two winters. However a reasonable response would be to check the TV manual and then make your own decision based on your area and the temperature ranges.

We left ours in the TT lady winter, too. What we were told was that we shouldn't try to operate it until the temperature got warmer, but that it would be OK in there over the winter. It was.

Left ours in TT last 3 years. Last year was a hard, cold winter. No issues.

I left mine in last winter and it was fine in the spring. My uncle has a cabin in Maine which isn't heated all winter. He leaves his flat screens in there and also doesn't have a problem..Should be fine.

Yep, leave the Tv's in. Don't make problems where there aren't any. Freezing has no impact of a bunch of plastic and printed circuits.

If they are LCD freezing won't hurt them... however DON'T power them up when they are frozen. Been there done that with a laptop, neat fracture patterns in the screen.
