If it is the same as mine, you turn the main switch on then off then on to activate it.

One caveat, if you cannot get the motion sensing mode to work even after following the directions it could be wired wrong. Keystone incorrectly wired my Laredo 291TG and the motion sensor wouldn't work and the LED only ever blinked blue even during the day. After trading email with the mfg it was determined that the yellow wire, which its an output for the motion sensing to drive another device was hooked up to the main power feed. Sure enough I removed the light and it was hooked up to power. I cut the yellow wire and the motion sensing now works.
In the end I actually don't use the motion sensing feature much... It doesn't do a great job of adapting to the various camping locations, i.e. different temperatures, campfire nearby or not, awning up or down, etc... If it was easier to adjust the sensitivity, I might use it more...
