Talking Power/Water Pedestal Install

Here are pics of the new power/water pedestal for the trailer. I used the 30 amp RV box and receptacle sold by Lowes, but modified the faceplate by cutting it to accept a 20 amp receptacle. This works with the auxiliary 20 amp circuit I put in the trailer earlier. This is all mounted on a treated 4X4 set in concrete and fed from underground with 3/4" pvc conduit and 3/4" pvc pipe for the water line. It's pretty straight forward, 3#12's for the 20 amp circuit and 3#10's for the 30 amp circuit, both on GFI breakers. (Amazon has the 30 amp GFI breaker) The circuits run in metal conduit from the garage sub panel to where it enters the ground. The water line was actually an afterthought, since I already had the trench dug. The power run is only about 60'. I also added an additional 20 amp outside outlet in the conduit which will be useful for the patio.

That looks awesome. I was starting to think about doing something similar until we had to move and now being in a rental I will wait until we buy again. I did Google where Highland CA is to see how far it is from me hoping I could store right next to you but too far.. Darn

That's nice.
My 20 amp plug is just out in the open. I thought about building a cover over it, but your idea looks a lot better.

We could end up neighbors, who knows?? Thanks for the kind words, vwags. I just got tired of tripping over the extensions cords across the yard, and putting the post where it is allows me to park on a slab too. Tomorrow, I move the trailer on to the slab.

Thanks michol02 - I do tend to get a little carried away sometimes, but this will be nice when the kids or friends come to visit, and makes it easier to work on the trailer too. Wish I could have put in sewer line at the same time but the slope doesn't work. Have to do some figuring on that one.

Thank you, Zenbuck. I got up this morning all excited to move the trailer into it's new spot and hurried out to do so. Everything went well and it fit perfectly where I wanted it. Went to plug in the power cable and that's when I realized that the 30 amp socket was upside down. I had to confess; it's upside down in the picture I posted. Glad it only took a minute to turn it around.
