We are planning a trip to Oregon Dunes to go RZR'n....

First stop: Shasta (Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort)
Second: Grants Pass (Riverpark RV Resort)

Then off to Oregon Dunes KOA, my brother heard this is the place?

After this, down to Redwoods RV Park. This is a big "U" shape drive. Question is, do we need to go that far (6 hrs) up to ride? Is there a better place south of Oregon Dunes KOA?

Join www.utvcrazy.net and ask your question. Many Kalifornia UTV-types and they will have the best answers.

Jessie M Honeyman State Park, just south of Florence.http://http://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=95

Winchester Bay near Reedsport. http://www.duneguide.com/sand_dune_guide_oregon_winchester_bay.htm

Both of these offer camping with dunes access.

Check with Oregon Dunes NRA for more info.

Reedsport is south Of Coos Bay/North Bend.....we always used to ride at Winchester Bay.....3 miles south of Reedsport......few good campgrounds right there including Winchester Bay Resort. The far end is where a lot of atv'ers stay.....long sites made for toy haulers.

What a great trip! Siskiyou was our first stop, very nice place. Then to Grants Pass and stayed on the Rogue River. Grants Pass it self was not too bad. 7% grade for miles, up and down. Then to North Bend for the dunes. We stayed at the KOA there and was a perfect place for dune riding. Weather was 67 and some fog most of the time, better than the 110 here in the central valley. Then it was off to Half Moon Bay, not the best place. Drove across the Golden Gate Bridge and down Hwy 1 from there.... CRAZY!!! but I did it. As soon as my wife forwards me the pics, I will get them up. Hwy 101 from the Bay Area south is in terrible condition. We are in Pismo till the weekend.
