ATTENTION TEXAS RVers

We are planning a side trip from Santa Fe, NM to Fredericksburg, TX. We want to make it a little further than Carlsbad but no further than Fort Stockton the first night to cut the trip in half. Any suggestions?

Never stayed in TX in an RV but have visited Fredericksburg. It is a wonderful little town with some great museums and mom & pop stores. You will love it.

I am in Austin and from Fort Stockton. Not much in FS to see but once you get to Central Texas, it's beautiful this time of yearl. The Bluebonnets are awesome right now. Fredericksburg is a great little town. A little side trip toward Johnson City to check out the LBJ Ranch is really nice too. The wildflower are amazing. There's a state park called Enchanred Rock if you like hiking. Great place. Your coming at the right time. 👍

If you came further south than Google recommends, to I-10, you could stop at Balmorhea State Park. But there should be something on the Google route.
Maybe check campgroundreviews.com

+1 on Balmorhea State Park

David Mountains State Park is a little out of your way, in Texas Terms, but is very nice.

Thank you so much. We'll shoot for Balmorhea SP if we can get reservations. We looked it up on their website, and it looks great. We may even want to stay a while!!
