Water pump pain.

Hi folks my water pump is acting up, one day it seemed to work ok but when the taps are shut off the pump would cycle every 5 seconds or so, and have a air sucking sound and then cycle again. Today pressure is brutal, so I disconnected the output hose of the pump and looked at how the water came out direct out of the pump. Not great pressure but also not a steady stream.
Pumps only 3 yrs old and has very little use so question is, is it time to replace? Thanks!

What brand of pump is it? Some brands have rebuild kits for the pump head (if the motor is working OK). It sounds like you have an air leak in the suction line from the FW Tank to the pump input. Possibly a loose connection or a split pipe/tube? I'd doublecheck everything leading to the pump before buying a replacement. If it's the supply line, a new pump will do the same thing.

Good Luck
