Our Cougar 1/2 ton has wood trusses. Don't know your specific year or model number so your's might be different. More info would help to be sure.

A year and full model number would help. You can remove a roof vent trim ring from inside the trailer to see the trusses. Most likely the roof membrane will be folded over and stapled on the inside, Carefully remove the staples from one end and take a peek.

Thank you

I should have mentioned this is 2020 model. Wood trust , ok, would you try to screw into these, or Im thinking the whole roof is wood? I would have to locate these trust.

Was hat brand of solar? Go power comes with screws. It’s not mandatory to hit trusses, just don’t overtighten the screws and they will hold to the wood material under the membrane. Any stainless screw shorter than 2” should be good.

Be sure to use plenty of Dicor to seal the brackets.

The roof is usually made from 3/8 4x8 plywood... You should be able to see the plywood panels thru the membrane... Trusses should be every 16 inches on each panel... A good stud finder should give exact locations...

I personally would avoid screwing into the trusses... Anything strong enough to rip the panel off the roof would just damage a small part of the plywood panel... Leaving the trusses undamaged...

A good 1 inch stainless screw should be fine anywhere on the roof... Then cover the whole mounting bracket/screw heads with dicor...

What they said. A stiff Montana headwind couldn't peal mine off. Screws and dicor, no need to land on a stud. I believe I used a #10 stainless panhead.
