Congrats! I went back an forth between the 373 and the raptor 356. Ended up with the raptor but this was a great layout also. Have you had it out yet. Any major issues?

According to the OP's profile, he has a 2014 RAM 2500. If that's accurate, then Ford, RAM or GM, he's "overloaded" with any 2500 truck.

Over the payload yes but under axle weights, under GCWR (barely). I’ve done enough research and am comfortable with what I’ve got. To each their own...
Happy camping to everyone!

Mine is 6500 RAWR, I never haul water and minimal fuel as we don’t boondock. I know airbags do not increase weight ratings but it sure does help balance it out. I’ve been playing with the CAT scales and I was amazed at how much weight moves off the front axle before airbags. With my 36’ bumper pull 400-500 lbs came off the front with no air in bags and was absorbed in the rear. They were a nice addition to the truck [emoji3]

My squat as it is now, empty, is about 2.5" which brings the truck pretty much level. I though about air bags but in my case not sure if 1.5-2K is worth an inch. No lightness to the front end but the scales say I only lost 20 pounds. Just curious what kind of weight did you have in the garage and how much did it change pin weight? My last toy hauler was a Raptor 300MP which is lighter and I had a 12 Ram dually for it so I didn't give weights a second thought. I wanted to stay SRW and under 40' and dual axle trailer thus the 356. I saw a recent posting that said garage loads reduced pin by about 50% of the garage weight. I'd be curious if that's a generally agreed upon figure. My garage is going to be a garage so I'm not worried about making it a living space and having to "put tools away". They will be away. Heavy stuff back there. Thought about and will explore putting some e-track channels on the side wall down low to secure some of those tools, compressor, grill, etc.
I was planning a couple of shakedown cruises sort of locally but all the military and COE parks are closed for who knows how long. So looks like I'll have plenty of time to think this out.
Good luck and happy trails with the Fuzion.

I’m still fine tuning the garage and such. If I understand you I wouldn’t pay 1500-2000 for the bags. I opted for the Firestone’s and put on my self, less than $400. With just 5-10 psi daily driving is much softer. I’ll continue to post back after a few trips to the scale.

Looking forward to how those number work out. The $$$ was with a pump and separate side controls, Airlift. That is one problem with a 3500, it does ride rougher but that's what happens with a truck. I'd feel funny with an Escalade ride.

Personally I don’t think about payload hooked up because it’s to much work unloading toys. I don’t think there is accurate way to get pin weight . When I drive over the scales and I come in under 7100 I know I didn’t exceed the 3600 pay load. I was looking at yellow sheets tonight the closest I could figure with different toys in the garage was 10 % off the hitch for a thousand in the garage. The next trip I’ll be 1300 lbs lighter with out the z force 800 and I weight full of water and 96 gallons of fuel going to the white mt rally AZ. This for my 35 ft camper 10 ft garage . The impact is still capable of 16.500 GVW.

Accuracy is dependent on effort. I spent a career, 45 years, flying helicopters and weight and balance was a big deal. Not so much now but old habits die hard. I know exactly, well within a few pounds, my pin weight because I weighed the truck alone with full fuel, hitch installed and when I weighed the trailer I made sure the truck was in the same configuration. The difference between the 2 truck rear axle weights is the pin weight. Course that was an empty trailer fresh off the lot with unfortunately an unknown amount of water on board. I can do guesstimates of weight transfer based on where something is loaded but my plan is for the first trip out when loaded with the bike and tools to weigh again. I'll also make sure the truck is still in the same configuration.

You could get a tongue scale and know exactly how much pin weight. I have 2 in my tool box 0-2000 for TT’s and 0-5000 for fivers.

I agree with Chunker, one can absolutely get an accurate pin weight. you need to scale twice one with the 5er connected and one with the TV only. Total axle weight loaded less total axle weight unloaded will give pin weight, add that to the trailer axle weight and you have total trailer weight.

I pull my Fuzion 401 with a Chevy Duramax 2500 without any problems. Nobody will ever convince me that this truck can’t handle it.
