No such thing as overkill when it comes to a quality replacement tire on an RV. The Goodyear tire listed is the correct size for my RV and the rating is the only one available.

And the LRE gives you the option to inflate cold to anywhere between 65 PSI and 80 PSI as long as the wheels and their valve stems are rated for the 80 PSI.

Nothing wrong with chinese tires, a chinaman would write that you ar discriminating.

But do you make that many miles, that the treath is worn out already, or is the wear only on one side of the treath. Then its an alignment- problem, and even Endurance would have the same wear.

Also for the Emdurance, the maximum load is calculated for 65mph, so for those the same system of highening up the pressure 10psi for 75mph and lowering maxload 10 % for 87mph is needed, as counted for the old ST tires.
Luckyly the maxload of same sise is higher because of higher loadrange, so 80psi for E-load,as is general advice, includes all this, and tire is still safe.

Yes, had Goodyear on my 265RL FW since 2017, would recommend them, also went up to Load Range E.

No discrimination here, the fact is the tires made in China are of lower quality and price. Lot’s of kilometers on my trailer, alignment is fine. Where do you get these other facts from? Are you a tire engineer?

Goodyear Endurance

Just upgraded mine to the Endurance replacing the trailer kings. So far so good. The best part is after I purchased them from Goodyear Amazon put them on sale and Goodyear price matched them. Waiting on my refund from Goodyear!

Before trading for our Montana we had a 2016 Bullet 269RLS and I put the Goodyear Endurance tires on it and was very happy with them.

I replaced my China bombs with Goodyear Endurance-great tires,no problems so far.Its been over a year.Had a flat with the old tires hardly any miles on them.Thats why I replaced them didnt feel comfortable with them.Goodyear has a good reputation for making good rv tires. My 5th wheel is a Keystone cougar X-Lite sgs28 2015.

I replaced my china bomb tires in Feb in anticipation for a RV trip to AZ in March
that got cancelled. So I only have a few miles on the GY tires so far, but I was
happy with the price I paid at Discount tire.

I've had my Endurance tires on my 2011 Cougar for about 15,000 miles now. I am very happy with their performance. While I like to scuff guard feature too, I'm happier with the 87 MPH rating, not because I drive 87 MPH (I faithfully drive 65 MPH). I think most of the China Bomb are rated for 65.00001 MPH which means the tires start to overheat on the road and when that happens treads start to separate and the next thing you know you got a tire blowout. Here in the desert southwest our trailer tires are hot the minute we leave the parking space. So heat is a major factor in buying a trailer tire.

Soapbox time: I'm so tired of reading tire articles from people that found the "XYZ" brand of tire for $88.37 each. Good luck with those cheap tires that when they blow may do 4 or 5 thousand dollars damage on your trailer. Look for a quality tire then search for the best price on that tire. I have found that searching for pricing on Tire Rack.com gives me the best price... taking that quote to my nearest Discount Tire shop they have met that online price every time. I pay extra for the mounting, balancing and road hazard warranty, but the overall price is still the lowest. (stepping down off of the soapbox)

This is pretty much what I would have said. I put the Goodyear Endurance on our 29BHS and haven't regretted it since.

All these people saying run LRE tires aren't advising that you check the rims, as most of the cheap Keystone ones are not rated for weight nor full pressure of a LRE tire. Your rims now become the weak point. Pull one, and look at the markings on the back of the rims before believing what you read on the internet.

I run Endurance, but I matched tires to the correct rims and had to buy new rims. Zero complaints on the tires.

No not a tire engineer, but call myself " pigheaded dutch selfdeclared tirepressure-specialist"
Story began when I got hold of the officially used european formula to calculate pressure for a certain load on tire, and made a litlle proyect of it , but went a bit out of hand, and now I kept hanging in it for 13 years.

But new pressure/loadcapacity-list( P/LC list) of endurance is yust an expension of the old ST list of Goodyear, where for fi 65 psi same loadcapacity as old list.

This proves to me that new Endurance is calculated in maxload for the same 65mph as the old Goodyear Endurance.

And in old documents for old ST that 10 psi higher for 75mph is given and 87mph( or was it 85) and 10 psi higher pressure, and 10% reduction of maxload.

But your wear is because of the many miles( how much?)

If you give me weight and tire-specifications, I can calculate a safe pressure for you. Then compare that with the pressure you used.

There is no "old" Goodyear Endurance. The predecessor to the Endurance was the Marathon. So your info is at best questionable

Brazo, at risk of continuing this inane thread, you lost your credence with the statement "Goodyear has a good reputation for making good rv tires." Goodyear Endurance started in distribution about the middle of January, 2017. Until then, you need to remember, the Goodyear Marathon was their flagship offering; the very same tire that for years caused millions in damage to RV's from coast to coast. I'm not badmouthing the Endurance. I suspect the manufacturer won't risk the abomination of the Marathon again. Old timers in the RV park will tell you that Goodyear does NOT have a good reputation with those tires, but seem to be working hard to gain prominence again.
Those 'in the know' will probably still take Sailuns over Goodyear in the 16" tire. Maxxis and Carlisle have both made great strides in improvement of quality in the last ten years. And both of those brands suffered along with the Marathons for a long time.

Goodyear can’t really be faulted for all of the bad reputation of the Marathon trailer tires.

I’m going to add a picture of a Keystone vehicle certification label. The trailer most likely had 5200# axle manufacturer certification. However, Keystone re-rated those axles to 5080# and installed original equipment ST225/75R15 LRD tires with a maximum load rating of 2540# each. Add to that the 65 MPH speed restriction for the marathon tires and early tire trouble was brewing when that trailer was sold.

That practice was used throughout the RV trailer manufacturing industry. Why? Because the FMVSS standard allows them to just that for RV trailer tire fitments. It still does and the only thing preventing them from continuing that action is a powerful recommendation from RVIA requiring all of their members (98% of all trailer manufacturers) to provide a 10% load capacity reserve (via inflation) above the trailers vehicle certified GAWRs.

I was replying to Stumpy's post of moving to a LRE from a LRC. And I stand by that reply. Moving up one load range is fine , especially if the trailer gvwr were pushing the boundaries of that load range.
I moved to Chinese made Carlisle LRD with the 26 RBPR and they are great. When I get the Cougar I will be using the same Chinese tire in a LRE. Never been a goodyear supporter, preferred Michelin, or Continental. The Michelin A/T 2 are made in Canada.
I don't care where the products are made, as long as they are rated well, "China bombs" is slightly bigoted why can't we just call them what they are
