Sure, you may not need to slide it.

On a long bed you don't need it but yes you can.

Yes, you can, yes I did, and yes I have one. If you like I will send you a picture or post it here. I have it neutered so it won't slide when you turn. No problem, a 20 minute fix. I have a 21K Demko and no problems.

Asking if you can install a slider hitch in a long bed truck is about the same as asking if you can marry a red-headed beauty... At the risk of "gasps" "oh no's" and "did he really say that?".... Yeah, you can install the hitch you love (as long as it's rated heavy enough to tow your fifth wheel) and you can put a ring on any finger you choose, as long as she agrees to stand beside you in front of the preacher.....

ADDED: I might should have added that only one red-head at a time is probably a good limit...…..

Yes you can put a slider in your long bed - and contrary to the advice from some, it might even be advisable. Our last two Keystone Raptors have had front compartments for 1) the generator and 2) either the propane bottles (2018 353TS) or the batteries (2008 3712TS). Those front compartments would not open for full access when the truck was connected.
  • Problem: I often camp without unhooking, but what do I do if I need access to one of those compartments? I might need to reset the breakers on the generator or change the altitude settings on the carb. What if I need to get access to the propane bottles?
  • Answer: used my old slider hitch. When I park, I shift the slider into maneuver mode (towards the back) and that gives me the ability to open these forward compartments while still hooked up. As I leave, I put the hitch back in travel position.

So, personally, I consider this to almost be a requirement, even on a long bed. I'm sure others will disagree. Here's a photo:

I brought the slider I have over from my old short bed to the long bed truck figuring I would never have to use it. I live on a private drive and backing into my driveway can be tricky. One day coming home my son said, you should try with the slider back, it should help the pivot point. That's why I sent him to college , it was amazing how much easier it was to back in, now I use it every time I back in to my driveway!

Ha...been running Wife 1.0 myself for 40 years. It's been a great program. I've discovered that the program performs automatic updates and requires no user permissions to do so. I've also discovered that as long as I spend a time with this OS and maintain the system so that there is plenty of "cache" to operate in that everything continues to run smoothly.
