Replaced Furrion Range with GE Profile

Asked last spring if anyone had experience with the GE Profile RV range, and only received replies that we wouldn't get our money out of it at trade in. That wasn't the point, as I've seen others complaining about Furrion with similar problems with Furrion oven thermostats being all but useless.
We did purchase the GE last spring, then cancer treatments got in the way in regards to installing it. Today, we have a balmy day in the 60s here in Kansas, a far cry from the weeks of below freezing and neggies below zero for days. Just removed the Furrion and installed the GE Profile. Tested the oven with an oven thermometer and it maintains the selected oven temp within 10 degrees, not the 100 degree differential that we were fighting with the Furrion.
HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE, HAPPY CAMPING!

Looks great! And like you, I don’t really care if we return our investment. We live in this rascal and want it comfortable and homey.

From where and how much if you're willing to say. I need a happy wife too!

( I guess that was the modification you were doing when you found the ginger ale mess)

That's affirmative, never did find the vacuum crevice attachment to clean up the debris in the range from drilling the counter top for the mounting screws. That probably ended up in the house and the Ginger Ale stayed onboard. Actually had to go into the house and bring a vac with the proper attachment out to do the clean up, didn't want that stuff getting hot beneath the burners!

Pat and I have been married for 50 years, I don't know the secret.

Bill, I believe the range he installed is about $700 at Camping world, probably $550 at Amazon or others.

Sorry, missed part of the context of the question, I thought you were seeking the answer to a long marriage!

Yes, the cost of the GE Profile 21" range varies from $550 to $700 they want something like $45 for the smoked glass cook top cover. If you order the top, order it with the range, otherwise you will get charged $9.95 for shipping.

Last spring Camping World had it on sale, with tax it was $611.

I'm doing something wrong. I guess I wasted a lot of money on gold, diamonds and other stones. Who knew all it would have taken was a new stove!

Thanks guys - I will look into that. Appreciate the info. We have the same temp problems with the Furrion model you had.

I don't have the answer to a long marriage either - other than stay out of the way when she's upset with something (like me for instance!)

Really nice looking stove, thanks for sharing! I've never used the oven portion in either of my trailers but plan to start traveling more in a couple of years. I'll keep this upgrade in mind for later. I'd like for my DW to be happy as well.

If you're planning "future long term living/travel" in your current trailer, then NOW is the time to actually use the oven and see if it works for your style of baking/broiling. If it does, great... On the other hand, if it is a "classic fail" (as so many discover) then you don't want to be "miles from home and all your tools" when you decide that the OEM range just won't work for you....

Try it several times under different circumstances now and see if DW is OK with it. If she's not, it is MUCH MUCH easier to change it out while at home where you have all your tools, hardware, silicone tube gun, paint brushes, etc....

Not much trumps having all the tools at hand when you pull the old range out and discover there's a 1/2" of countertop that needs to be smoothed out so the new range will fit and you have to go to the store to buy $100 worth of tools you have sitting in your garage at home to finish the job. Plus, after it's changed out, you have to either toss the old one or carry it (taking up space) for the rest of your trip. If you're at home when doing this changeout, you can recoup part of your expense by selling it or even give it away to someone who could use it.

^^^^CBears if you do as John suggested and try out the oven be sure and get a couple of oven thermometers and use them if you are going to try to cook something you want to eat. The ovens are notorious for being very inaccurate.

That looks great. Like CBEARS I have never used our oven. Grill and cook top have been it. I was not even aware that GE made an RV oven. That looks very nice, are the burners also an upgrade?

Three positives with the GE, 1. The oven regulates to within 10 f of the dial. 2. The top grate is cast iron and not pressed tin / steel that wraps and sags. 3. The layout of the top burner flames are aligned with the gaps in the top grate, so you aren't heating the grate, just the pot or pan.

Looking at doing for my wife, we full time park host and we cook a lot, we also use the oven, even though we have a nice convection/microwave also.
What is the max temperature for the oven, and does it have a broiler feature?

500 f max, not intended as a broiler. could possibly slide a thin baking sheet under the burner to do quesadillas and that would be pushing it!

So what you're saying is... they did it right! (unlike some other mfgr's we know, no names named )
