Chain Dogg,

It's nice on that side of the mountains in California, but I think some of the coldest I've ever been was in the desert at Edwards AFB back in the 70's. We were testing the lifting bodies, the predecessor of the space shuttle and sometimes we'd be out on the dry lake beds for hours with nothing but a set of binoculars. When the wind whipped across those flats, it was miserable. I often wondered why they didn't build the base closer to San Diego LOL

Enjoy that warm weather.

Hey Barney,

Sounds fun. I put skis on my feet and a strap a pillow on my butt and head down the hill.

As for model airplanes, I haven't flown in years, used to love control line dogfigiting with the old "satan's wing" and .035 engines. I tried RC, and my fingers do the same thing trying to fly them as they do trying to beat my grandson at Nintendo or XBox

Only about 60 over here in Destin Fl. today. What to do, maybe go south before I freeze. Maybe just wait a couple of weeks.

Logged the temps indoors and out last night

Out it was 12 and went up to 16 by 5 AM

Inside it changes from 65 to 70 with the theromostat set to 65. The heat pump does a much better job keeping the temp even but it's a bit too cold for it.

This weekend back into the 30's during the day so I'll set the heat pump to 75 to really warm the place up for the night

I was on my way to DC this morning. Just before sunrise, it was 12 degrees. Keep up the count, I'm with you on this one.

That is the system that I have my eye on here in Virginia. The storms that take that track hit us hard. If the system flanks the mountain range and makes a run up the coast, gathering moisture, we are in for a real mess.

Snow showers. Low around 13. West wind 15 to 20 mph becoming north after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

What they they meant is 1-2" per hour since noon today in South West Michigan

High today was 9F low tonight -2 and high tomorrow 6F. Winds gusting to 35 MPH, wind chill -20's most of the day. An Alberta clipper headed this way, possible "system snow" accumulation 11" with an additional 5-15" of lake effect snow from tonight about midnight through Friday afternoon at 6PM. You can bet the roads will be packed with snowmobilers from downstate coming up for the weekend. Yesterday, I 75 from the Mackinaw Bridge to West Branch had 1 lane open in each direction with maximum speeds of 10 MPH. I'm glad I have a snowmobile... at least I can run to the store on the back roads until they get things plowed out. This is going to be "FUN" for the rest of the week.
