Macerator pump - $$

Bought one on Amazon.ca the other day. I think it was just over $300 delivered. I was in an RV place a few days back and noticed one on the shelf. $549.00.

It was the exact model I bought. Wee bit of a markup, no?

I looked again on Amazon.ca and found one for the bargain price of $1,145.00.

On another forum the macerator commonly goes by the name Poop Cannon!

I picked up the pump section at a local boating place for $35 made a couple of adapters and have a great pump for about $50. Had one a few years ago but it came up missing from an unlocked side door they are wonderful things just use LOTS OF WATER and don't leave it hooked up for long times.

I bought that same pump, in December, from amazon.com and it was $200, with free 2 day shipping.

Have used it a few times and am very happy with it, my BIL & SIL stayed in the camper for 10 days when they were here for Christmas, made dumping the tanks a lot easier than hooking up and dragging the trailer to a dump site.

I figure I can use it when dry camping too, pump into the the blue tank in the bed of the truck and pump out of the blue tank at a dump site, with no worry of hoisting or hauling the tank.

Well worth the money, IMO.

I had to haul the trailer 30+ miles last year to empty the tanks, then bring it back to my spot and set up again. No more of that. I carry a plastic 25 Cdn gallon tank with a whizzer 12v pump for water. The Co-op next door gave me a couple of plastic 45 gallon DEF barrels. I will conjure up a setup to haul grey and black water away in the truck instead of the past performances.

Our local community operated campground has locked up the sewer dump and water stand, and can only be accessed by phoning the town office (works great on closed days!) or going to the mini golf clubhouse (closed a lot of the time). I guess none of my property taxes on my house and shop count for anything anymore.

I can, however, see why they had to lock up. Too many bozos abusing the facility.

Well, I got it all hooked up, with a 45 gallon cdn DEF barrel receptacle and the 25 gallon water supply. Works like a charm! It chews the black water stuff to water consistency. I used plenty of water to backflush the black tank, and it all worked good. I wired the macerator directly to one battery on the trailer and hook it up to work just to the left of the valves. My water supply gets pumped with a little whizzer pump run by a 12v battery in the box of the truck.

I have a cap on the truck so none of the setup is visible.
