A few good campgrounds to visit

Well we are on a two week trip to the deep south, boy is it humid down here.

We have stayed at several parks as we have traveled down here and two of the best so far are:

1. Winton Woods in Hamilton County, Cinn. OH 5 out of 5 for this site. Cost was about $45 a night for full-hook ups, cement pad pull thru.

2. James Island County Park in Charleston SC anoth 5 out of 5. Cost was $45 a night also for full hook-ups pull thru extra long sites at this one and well spaced out.

James Island Park

Oak Plantation is a great 2nd choice in Charleston. Spent several nights there on the way to Myrtle Beach this past summer. Heavy big trees, plenty of walking area and clean rest rooms.

It has 250 sites and is almost double in size of the more favored and heavily reserved James Island Park. We could not get in James Island Park, even though our dates were reasonably flexible. Plan ahead, way ahead.

Enjoyed the HECK out of Charleston. Walked miles. It is not hard to find parking near old downtown along the waterfront. Patience is necessary.
