Flat screen tv mounting

We have a Cougar with the rear entertainment system. The tv went kaput so since we weren't traveling I bought one that was larger than the hole that it slides down in to. Of course now we are going on a trip and what do I do with the tv? I mounted it to the bracket. It holds it firmly but would that work on the road?

I think you're talking about the power TV lift that stores the TV in a cabinet and electrically raises it for viewing??? If so, there's a warning label on the lift mechanism that states not to tow with the TV in the raised position. Apparently, the mechanism isn't strong enough to prevent damage to the arms during towing.

So, my guess would be, "Probably not"......

Returned from trip. Mounted the larger tv to preinstalled mount that retracts into cabinet, lowered tv until it was flush with surface of countertop, then mounted 2 earthquake straps, bought at HD, to back of tv and countertop. Tv stayed put with no problems for trip. Some of the roads were b a d!!
